Palisades Wildfire Community Support Center Opening This Week

American Legion Pacific Palisades Post 283 is opening its doors to serve residents and business owners impacted by the recent wildfire. Our Legion Hall, which remains untouched by the fire, will function as a Community Support Center staffed by veterans and their family members who are dedicated to assisting those in need.

What We’re Offering:

Free Support Services: Insurance and legal advice, FEMA, SBA, and Red Cross stations.
Mental Health & Clergy Support: Counselors available in the main hall.
Essential Supplies: PPE, food, water, shovels, and sifters for residents returning to assess their properties.
Loaned Tools: Available for those working through recovery efforts.

How to Find Us:

🇺🇸 Look for the flags!

We will be planting flags leading to the post to help guide residents to the center, located at:

📍 15247 La Cruz Ave, Pacific Palisades (Below CVS, next to the Post Office).

Opening Details:

📅 Soft Opening: Tuesday, February 11
📅 Full Opening: Wednesday, February 12
🕘 Hours: 9 AM – 5 PM

The facility has undergone a five-day mitigation process and environmental testing to ensure it is safe for use. Wash stations will be available outside, and we encourage visitors to stop by before heading to fire-damaged areas to help prevent tracking in ash.

Additionally, a donation center for clothing and supplies is operating in Culver City at:

📍 5450 S. Slauson Ave., Culver CIty

As veterans, we are experienced in deploying to austere environments, and we stand ready to support our neighbors in this time of need. We are here to help—please reach out if you need assistance.
