ABOUT US

Welcome

I take great pride in introducing you to the men of Ronald Reagan-Palisades Squadron 283, and I welcome you to the camaraderie we share.  Since the forming of Squadron 283 in 2004, we have been a driving force in the Pacific Palisades, enhancing the lives of our veterans and providing leadership to our community.

The Sons of the American Legion was established by the 14th National Convention of the American Legion in 1932 and it evolved into one of the most influential nonprofit groups in the United States. We are fortunate with the opportunities and resources that Post 283 provides us, and members of this Post & Squadron are out there doing great things.  They are serving the needy, reintegrating those returning, mentoring our community’s leaders, and spreading the ideals for which our military fought, all while honoring those who did not come home with us.  I hope you will join us in these noble endeavors.

In 2022-2023, we are completing our ambitious plan to rejuvenate and enhance Ronald Reagan-Palisades Post 283.  We are applying the latest military and business leadership techniques to transform our programs and processes, and in the end to improve the Legion membership’s value to you. My commander’s vision: to continue projects that will enrich the lives of our veteran members and their families, to grow an even stronger membership of our Squadron and to continue our “Living History” efforts to document the efforts of our veteran heros.

Ronald Reagan-Palisades Post 283 is a place where veterans can come together, bring their families, and enjoy the special things we have in common with our fellow veterans. The American Legion Family of  Legionnaires, Sons and Auxiliary is a growing force in Southern California.  We also hope that you will find the support with us to continue to serve your community, your family, and this great nation.
