At the Center of Town

It’s not an exaggeration to say the Post Office is the center of town.

Think back to our American history and always we come back to that point, where was the center. The Post Office was always the center.

Do you know who was our first post master? Benjamin Franklin. And, in each of our wars, where did people gather? Of course, the Post Office for news of the war and their loved ones. And so, when The American Legion was getting going, where did it set up so many of its Halls? Near the Post Office because that’s where the center of town was. And when the PO was setting up its PP office where did it go? To The American Legion because it was the center of town. So, we are continuing the tradition of being in the center of town with the PO.

And Ironically, and humorously, so many of our citizens think we’re the same thing, because they keep trying to mail their letters at the Post. After all, we’re next door. In the center of town,

So, why is it important that we renewed our lease? Because that’s where we and the PO have always been — next to each other — in the center of town. And our renewal assures the town that we will keep the PO in the center of town for at least another five years.
