Advanced DJI Drone Classes Coming to Post 283

In response to growing interest among its members, American Legion Post 283 is set to introduce advanced classes for DJI drone operators. With a significant number of members owning or having access to DJI drones, the Post recognizes the need for a specialized course that delves beyond basic operation.

These advanced classes will focus on sophisticated aspects of DJI drone handling, including precision maneuvering, complex flight patterns, and professional-level photographic techniques. Additionally, the course will cover important legal and ethical considerations in drone usage, ensuring compliance with current regulations.

The initiative aims not only to enhance technical skills but also to foster a community of drone enthusiasts within the Post. Members will have the opportunity to share experiences, learn collaboratively, and explore the extensive capabilities of UAV technology. Plans for the advanced class are currently underway, with further details to be announced soon.

Next Beginner Drone Class at Post 291

American Legion Pacific Palisades Post 283 member Matt Louieā€™s drone program is gaining steam. The next scheduled event is on Jan. 27, 2024, from 9 AM to 2 PM at American Legion Newport Harbor Post 291. This follows the successful hosting of last month's UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) basics course by Post 291, which garnered positive responses and a desire for a repeat session.

Louie will be leading the class once again, sharing his expertise and guiding participants through the nuances of drone operation. The event is not just a demonstration but an interactive learning opportunity, designed to provide attendees with hands-on experience in flying drones. It's an invitation for interested individuals to expand their skills and understand the practical aspects of drone technology.

This event emphasizes the growing interest in UAV technology and its applications, reflecting the American Legion's commitment to embracing modern technology and offering educational opportunities to its members and the community. By participating, attendees can expect to gain a new skill set, deepen their understanding of UAVs, and experience the thrill and technicalities of piloting drones. The session is open for anyone interested in learning about drones, whether they are beginners or have some prior experience.
